Venning Advisory is a full-service CPA and advisory firm founded in 1978 with offices throughout the East Coast of the US. Venning provides accounting, bookkeeping, tax, assurance, and financial advisory services to individual and corporate clients providing a comprehensive approach to tax and operational complexities.

We are looking for multiple experienced a detail-oriented Seasonal Accountant to join our team and assist with individual tax returns.

Job Description:
As a Seasonal Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing and filing individual tax returns while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. You will work closely with clients to gather necessary documentation and provide excellent customer service throughout the tax preparation process.

Venning CPA is looking for experienced, seasonal preparers for the upcoming tax season. With our team, your focus will be 1040 tax forms (1065, 1120, 1120S and 1041 helpful but not required). The position begins immediately and goes through May 1, 2025. It requires 40 hours per week that will occur between Monday – Saturday 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Key Responsibilities:

• The focus of the position will be the preparation of individual tax returns. Some of these returns are complex and include multiple K-1's and investments. Familiarity with these types of returns is required.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local tax laws and regulations.
• Research and consult on various 1040 tax matters and respond to IRS and other tax authority inquiries when requested.
• Identify and communicate potential tax issues and planning opportunities.
• Provide guidance and support to other 1040 preparers.
• Provide exceptional client service.
• Assist with other accounting tasks as needed during the tax season.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in tax preparation, particularly with Form 1040 required.
• Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations.
• Proficiency in tax software (e.g., Drake).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
