Job Title: Postpartum Nurse (Rotational Shift)

Location: Healthcare Facilities Across NJ, NY & Upstate NY

Shift: Rotational Shift

Job Summary:

The Postpartum Registered Nurse (RN) provides care for postpartum mothers and newborns in a rotating schedule, ensuring comprehensive maternal and neonatal care during both day and night shifts.

Responsibilities:

Monitor and support postpartum recovery for mothers.
Assess newborn health, monitor vital signs, and provide essential screenings.
Educate parents on postpartum care, breastfeeding, newborn care, and safe sleep practices.
Recognize and respond to postpartum complications or neonatal distress.
Assist mothers with breastfeeding, providing lactation counseling and troubleshooting issues.
Administer prescribed medications and pain relief interventions.
Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with hospital policies.
Work closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide holistic patient care.

Required Skills & Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a Postpartum, Mother Baby, or Labor & Delivery unit in an acute care hospital.
Ability to adapt to rotating shifts and maintain consistent, high-quality patient care.

Education & Licensure:

Required Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN).
Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Required Certifications & Licensure:

Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (AHA)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – AHA
New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license

Work Schedule:

Hours: 36 hours per week (3 x 12-hour shifts)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift Availability: Rotational Shift
Requirements: Every other weekend, holiday shifts required, no on-call
