Part-Time Benefits Consultant to join our team and provide expert support across
retirement and health & welfare benefits administration. About the Role: In this role, you will work with multiple clients, cleaning up and optimizing 401(k) plans, ensuring compliance with Department of Labor (DOL) regulations, and managing benefits administration across various platforms. You’ll also be responsible for leveraging broker relationships to ensure they are providing adequate support and escalating issues when needed.
Key Responsibilities: - 401(k) Plan Administration & Compliance
- Manage and correct 401(k) plan errors, including Voluntary Correction Programs (VCPs) with the DOL
- Oversee record keeper transitions, ensuring smooth and compliant migrations
- Ensure clients remain compliant with ERISA, IRS, and DOL requirements
- Prepare and review Form 5500 filings and other required reporting
- Benefits Administration & Strategy
- Support open enrollment, renewals, and ongoing benefits plan management
- Coordinate with brokers and vendors to ensure high-quality service delivery
- Troubleshoot benefits issues and escalate concerns with brokers and carriers
- Provide guidance on best practices for benefits policies and compliance
- Client Support & Consulting
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients on benefits strategy, compliance, and administration
- Develop process improvements for benefits operations
- Educate clients on employee benefits trends and regulatory updates
Qualifications: - 5+ years of experience in benefits administration, with a strong focus on 401(k) plan management
- Deep knowledge of 401(k) compliance, record keeper transitions, and DOL correction programs
- Experience managing multiple clients and benefit programs simultaneously
- Strong ability to partner with brokers and escalate issues as needed
- Understanding of ERISA, ACA, COBRA, and other benefits compliance regulations
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Ability to work independently and remotely while managing multiple priorities
Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
